Note that above data includes various job roles and is approximate data. Also note that the amounts reflected above are gross annual salaries (13.92) and does not include additional benefits like meal vouchers, mobility allowance, child allowance.
Here are other general conclusions from the data.
- Median Salary: The median salary across all positions is approximately €74,000.
- Salary vs. Experience: There’s a general trend of higher salaries with increased experience, indicating the value placed on seasoned professionals. However, outliers exist where certain roles command higher salaries with relatively lower experience, suggesting either niche expertise or high demand in those areas.
- Role with Highest Salary: The role of “Senior Manager” commands the highest salary, closely followed by “Product Owner” and “Service Delivery Manager”. These positions likely entail significant responsibilities and strategic decision-making.
- Industry Impact: IT-related sectors dominate the higher salary brackets. Roles like Cloud Security Architect, Senior Software Engineer, and IT Architect command significant pay, reflecting the growing importance and demand for IT expertise in various industries.
- Education Impact: While higher education levels such as MBA or Masters may correlate with higher salaries, there are exceptions. Positions like Technical Lead and Cloud Security Architect, which require specialized skills, can offer competitive salaries despite requiring lower education levels.
- Location Influence: Roles based in Brussels tend to offer the highest salaries, likely due to its status as a major business and technology hub in Belgium. This highlights the regional disparity in salary offerings.
- Specialized Skills: Positions requiring specialized skills or expertise, such as Data Protection Consultant, Bid Manager, and Oracle DBA, tend to offer higher salaries. This underscores the importance of niche knowledge in commanding competitive compensation.
- Management Positions: Senior managerial roles naturally offer higher salaries due to their leadership responsibilities and broader scope of work. Positions like Senior Manager and Service Delivery Manager exemplify this trend.
- Expatriate Status Impact: Expatriate status, especially with the 30% ruling, can significantly affect net salaries. Roles like IT Helpdesk Support and Senior Product Developer showcase this impact, with higher net salaries due to favorable tax treatments.
- Technology Influence: Roles associated with emerging technologies or high-demand domains like Cloud, SAP, and Data Engineering tend to offer higher salaries, reflecting the market demand for expertise in these areas.
In conclusion, factors such as experience, specialization, location, and industry demand play crucial roles in determining salary levels across various positions in the Belgian job market.
