Get ready to grab your umbrellas because the upcoming week in Belgium is going to be a wet one! Brace yourself for a deluge as the forecast predicts a month’s worth of rain in just a few days, especially on Tuesday and Thursday. But don’t lose hope just yet, as a glimmer of sunshine might be peeking through the clouds soon.
This past Sunday marked the end of yet another rainy week in Belgium, with showers and even some thunderstorms making an appearance. Keep your jackets
More rain is expected in the week ahead. A month’s worth of precipitation could fall in a matter of days, with Tuesday and Thursday set to be particularly wet. However, an end to the miserable Belgian weather seems in sight.
On Sunday, another rainy week ended on a sour note, with showers across most of Belgium, and in some places even thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will not surpass 19°C, while at sea and in the heights of the Ardennes, gusts of up to 50-55 kilometres are possible, the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) warned.
Get ready for a gloomy start next week in Belgium. The forecast predicts low clouds and local showers on Monday morning with more rain and possible thunderstorms throughout the day, especially in central, eastern, and southern regions. However, the coast might get some occasional sunshine. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly to around 21°C in Brussels.
Keep your umbrellas handy as heavy rainfall is anticipated on Tuesday and Thursday, with a possibility of up to 30 liters of water per square meter. Friday
Next week will again start out bleak, with low clouds and a few local showers on Monday morning, followed by more showers during the day, which locally could see lots of rainfall and some thunderstorms, especially in the centre of the country as well as in the east and south of Belgium. Only at the sea will it remain mostly dry with occasional sunshine. Temperatures will however be slightly warmer than they have been in the past days, expecting to reach around 21°C in Brussels.
Particularly heavy rainfall is expected on Tuesday and Thursday, with up to 30 litres of water per square metre being possible, VRT NWS reported. Friday too will remain changeable with showers and a chance of thunderstorms. According to weather reporter Bram Verbruggen, this means Belgium could see a month’s rainfall, which amounts to 70 litres of water per square metre, in just one week.
Belgium’s weather is as unpredictable as your favorite mystery novel! Wednesday might just surprise us with some sunshine and temperatures over 20°C. But hey, don’t get too comfortable, things could switch up anytime! Next weekend seems to be playing nice too. Saturday plans to keep things dry with bursts of sunshine, and temperatures might even hit a cozy 23°C. RMI even hints at a sweet, dry, and warm spell coming our way towards the end of June. Looks like Mother Nature
It is difficult to predict exactly where or when the heavy rain will fall. For now, Wednesday is expected to be slightly sunnier with temperatures surpassing 20°C, but again, this could change.
Weather predictions for next weekend are also positive so far. Saturday is expected to be largely dry with sunny spells, while maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 23°C. “Towards the end of June, a dry and warmer period will set in,” RMI said.
