The fight first broke out in Brussels Central Station at around 21:30 on Monday. Two groups of young people clashed with each other, the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed on Tuesday afternoon. The brawl then continued on a train between Brussels Central and Brussels-Midi.

The victim, an adolescent male, was immediately given first aid and was subsequently taken to a local hospital by emergency services. He was in a life-threatening condition but Vanoverschelde confirmed on Tuesday that his life was no longer in danger.
Right after the stabbing incident, the Railway Police of the Federal Police swiftly appeared on the scene, nabbing four underage suspects. Two were handed over to the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the other two were sent to the Halle-Vilvoorde Public Prosecutor’s Office. As the details surrounding the event remain hazy, a thorough investigation is currently underway to shed light on the situation.
